Description:

ING Luxembourg is looking for a Tax Advisor specialized either in Personal income tax or in VAT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive and on-request personal income tax or VAT (hereafter tax) advice regarding ING activities, for example:
  • Identification of tax implication of ING products
  • Assistance during ING projects
  • Development and enhancement of tax policies and procedures

Advise may include cross-border situations requiring in-depth tax law analysis.

  • Assume more responsibilities with increasing experience.
  • Work globally and cross-functionally with other teams within ING.
  • Liaise with the local tax authorities and external counsels.
  • Stay updated on upcoming regulatory-tax changes; monitor and assess their business impact (relevant domestic and European legislation) and implement them as needed.
  • Ensure tax compliance of the bank (e.g. VAT/Directors’ fees returns);
  • Leverage technology to maximize productivity, including involvement in IT projects to advise on taxation impact.
  • Ensure ING tax practices are aligned with tax standards, advise employees on policy interpretation, addressing questions and providing guidance.
  • Implement and supervise the ING Group tax policies and standards and their related controls.
  • Contribute to a flexible and team-oriented working culture that fosters personal development and a positive attitude.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as may be required.

Profile:

  • You have a master’s degree in legal/tax/economics.
  • You have minimum 3 years’ experience in Luxembourg in tax matters
  • You are prepared to further develop your skills and knowledge.
  • You have knowledge in various tax areas, preferable Belgian/Luxembourg and French income tax statements (knowledge of tax legislation in other countries is an advantage);
  • Expertise in VAT and/or personal income tax
  • You are fluent in English, and have a good understanding of French
  • You are organized, flexible and able to manage several files simultaneously, working efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • You have strong analytical, summarization, and problem-solving skills.
  • You can work as part of a team but also independently and take initiatives.
  • You can communicate effectively and act as a team player.
  • You have a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
