We are searching for a Tax Analyst to join our Global Tax team. This role will support tax compliance, planning, and accounting for corporate income taxes across Canada, the US, and internationally. Key duties include assisting with tax returns, quarterly/annual tax provisions, tax research, indirect and withholding taxes, country-by-country reporting, and external tax audits. This role offers opportunities to develop your tax, analytical, and communication skills while working with various tax issues impacting the business. A background in accounting or tax is preferred.
This position will report to the Tax Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or diploma in accounting, business, commerce, or equivalent experience.
  • Professional accounting designation preferred, but not required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting or a mix with industry.
  • Experience with large corporations and consolidated groups is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and tax preparation software.
  • Familiarity with online tax research tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Team player with the ability to proactively resolve issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing tax working papers, analyses, and gathering information for corporate and partnership income tax returns, working with external advisors.
  • Filing corporate and partnership income tax returns, information returns, elections, and remittances for jurisdictions in Canada and the US.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual indirect tax filings for corporate entities.
  • Assisting with tax installments and coordinating payments to tax authorities.
  • Supporting the preparation of responses to federal, provincial, and state tax audits.
  • Assisting with quarterly/annual internal tax accounting provisions.
  • Creating templates to streamline the gathering of tax information from divisions.
  • Reconciling income tax accounts.
  • Maintaining personal and corporate integrity in all actions.
