Description:
We are seeking a Tax Analyst to join our team in the Private Equity industry, based in Richmond, Virginia. As a Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including maintaining customer exemption certificates, managing indirect tax filings, and assisting in new business inquiries. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the team’s success.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the indirect tax filings, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
- Analyze financial data for inclusion in returns or corrections, calculating taxes due where necessary.
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations to ensure compliance with internal accounting requirements and proper recording of tax payments.
- Utilize software such as CCH ProSystem Fx, Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and SAP S/4HANA to manage and process customer credit applications.
- Handle multiple tasks in conjunction with various tax filing deadlines, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
- Participate in ad hoc projects, research, and analysis as assigned, using skills in Ad Hoc Reporting and Compliance Audit.
- Support the Tax Director with new business inquiries, research, planning opportunities, and legislative monitoring.
- Field and assist with taxing authorities’ audit requests, leveraging your experience in Corporate Income Tax and Indirect Tax Compliance.
- Supervise the maintenance of customer exemption certificates, ensuring they are up-to-date and correctly filed.
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action, utilizing skills in Sales Tax Returns and Monthly Sales Tax.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a Tax Analyst role or similar within the Private Equity sector
- Proficiency in CCH ProSystem Fx, Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and SAP S/4HANA software
- Demonstrable experience in Ad Hoc Reporting, Compliance, and Compliance Audit
- Knowledge and understanding of Corporate Income Tax, Corporate Tax Compliance, Indirect Tax, Indirect Tax Compliance, and Sales Tax
- Experience in preparing and submitting Sales Tax Returns and Monthly Sales Tax
- Proficiency in CCH Sales Tax, Vertex Sales & Use Tax
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
