DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the performance of a highly efficient department, the role of Manager is to ensure the provision of an industry leading service to clients. This means supporting Directors to win work, managing a team who can deliver for clients and promoting a positive organisational culture through its vision, mission and values.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

CR – CPI or ACCA/ACA A&A – ACA/ACCA Tax - ATT desirable but not mandatory.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

The role requires a highly organised leader, with strong collaboration skills who is client and team focused.

Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day activities of the department to ensure work is delivered within the budget and timeframes set.
Ensure departmental deadlines and policies are adhered to, monitor potential issues and take action to overcome problems.
Recruit and develop a skilled and dedicated team who deliver a quality service to clients.
Design and implement planning processes to ensure department schedules meet customer needs and statutory deadlines.
Review team files to ensure all standards, quality and compliance requirements are met and issues identified.
Facilitate communications between the team and directors to ensure important information is received and acted upon.
Sign off client files up to the agreed level to ensure high standards of quality, advice and compliance.
Give feedback on the quality and standard of work produced and highlight areas for development.
Develop technical knowledge and utilise to complete more bespoke client work and to develop colleagues.
Build strong relationships with Directors, team members and clients to facilitate the completion of work to deadline.
Ensure the correct client documentation is secured in a timely and efficient manner so deadlines can be met.
Develop systems and implement training and development to increase team utilisation and skill levels.
Attend external events and client meetings to develop own client network and contacts.
Work alongside Directors and Associate Directors to win new client business.
Develop and communicate business plans, opportunities and ideas for improvement to Directors to ensure the continued growth and progression of the department.
