Description:
Q ENERGY is looking to hire a Tax Expert (all genders) for our growing Team in Porto.
In this role, you will handle state tax, regional tax, and VAT matters for operating companies, SPVs, and ongoing or dormant project companies, while considering tax affairs and refund periods. You will also make predictions about future taxes, manage target profits, and report all tasks to the Head of Finance Iberia. Strong communication and process improvement skills are essential to help drive efficiency and compliance across the organization. REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of local and national tax regulations, statutes, and filing procedures.
- Experience working with multiple entities within a corporate structure is a plus.
- Business fluency in English and Portugese, any additional language is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the preparation of corporate tax returns is fully compliant with all local and national regulations.
- Review the organization’s operations and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with legal requirements.
- Propose and develop new policies and procedures to improve the collection of tax-related information from various department managers.
- Assist in the incorporation of new entities, business lines, and operational procedures into the Group’s tax structure.
- Prepare, process, and maintain accurate paperwork for all accounting functions, leading to the timely preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Verify the accuracy of records and documents related to tax reporting, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
- Maintain consistent written and oral communication with vendors, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders on tax-related matters.
- Conduct research on local and national tax compliance issues, providing recommendations for improvement.
