DESCRIPTION
Our Downtown Vancouver real estate client is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join the team. Excellent opportunity for a tax manager looking to transition out of public practice into industry, ideally having dealt with real estate clients.
Competitive salary ranging from $125,000 to $135,000 + Bonus
Location: Downtown Vancouver, Hybrid work model
Responsibilities:
- Maintain CRA portal and business accounts
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual GST return filing process for all legal entities
- Assist in the preparation of externally prepared returns
- Manage the annual partnership tax slip deadline process and review the returns for US and Canadian project entities (K-1’s and T5013’s)
- Manage any GST audits and communicate with CRA auditor, appeals clerks and justice officers, and tax advisors, accordingly
- Manage the process of calculating and remitting quarterly withholding taxes
- Estimate corporate taxes throughout the year for all legal entities
- Prepare tax-related communication to investors and answer investor tax-related questions
- Liaise with CRA and Department of Oregon tax officials, including submission of supporting documentation and information as required
- Prepare and issue US tax certifications (Forms W8-BEN-E, W-9)
- Consider impact on business for changes in tax laws to proactively address issues and/or realize opportunities
- Research the tax impact of strategic decisions and preparation of memorandums
- Support other team members with ad-hoc projects, special projects/initiative
Successful Candidate:
- CPA and In-Depth Tax Courses are an asset.
- 3-4+ years experience in tax or a similar position is preferred
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience using Tax prep and Sage Intacct is an asset.
