Reports to: Tax Director

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare Canadian corporate income tax returns;
  • Manage corporate income tax compliance (Canada and US), including the return data collection, computing and verifying instalment payments etc.;
  • Asist with the quarterly and annual tax provision, research and document related tax accounting issues and participate actively in the consolidated tax provision;
  • Assist the Tax Director in dealing efficiently and timely with tax audits;
  • Analyze the notices of assessment and account statements;
  • Communicating with various tax authorities on tax-related matters and responding to the requests;
  • Participate in the implementation of transfer pricing processes;
  • Assist with commodity tax/Canadian indirect tax questions;
  • Conduct tax research and prepare technical tax position memorandums on Canadian and international tax matters;
  • Participate in the tax perspective of various strategic projects.

Professional Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate Canadian taxation;
  • Knowledge of IFRS or GAAP;
  • Proficiency in common IT tools, such as Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel;
  • Knowledge of at least one accounting software is an asset;
  • CPA professional designation is an asset;
  • Knowledge in indirect tax or international tax is an asset;
  • Knowledge in CbCR or Pillar II is an asset;
  • Strong communication skills and bilingual in both English and French (written and spoken).
