Description:
We are in search of a Tax Preparer for our team located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The selected candidate will be entrusted with the responsibility of preparing and filing individual tax returns, reviewing financial documents, identifying potential tax benefits, and ensuring compliance with tax laws.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring accurate and timely preparation and filing of individual tax returns including Forms 1040, Schedules A, B, C, D, and E.
- Scrutinizing and understanding clients’ financial documents such as W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, and other relevant tax forms.
- Discovering potential tax credits, deductions, and benefits with the aim to optimize client returns.
- Conducting comprehensive interviews with clients to gather necessary information and comprehend their financial situation.
- Ensuring strict adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Engaging with clients to answer their queries, offer tax planning advice, and respond to tax notices and audits.
- Keeping accurate records of tax filings and communicating updates to clients.
- Collaborating with team members to maintain quality and consistency in service delivery.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation
- Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems
- Skilled in preparing individual tax returns
- Ability to stay updated with the latest tax laws and regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of tax preparation
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple clients and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills to explain tax-related concepts to clients
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is preferred, but not required
