Description:
We are seeking a Tax Preparer to join our team in Farmington Hills, Michigan. This role involves the preparation of various tax returns, maintaining strong client relationships, and staying updated with the latest tax laws and regulations. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and reviewing tax returns for a variety of clients including individuals, corporations, non-profit organizations, and businesses.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Identifying potential tax credits and liabilities, ensuring accurate and timely filing of tax returns.
- Conducting tax research to ensure compliance with state and federal taxation rules.
- Managing client relationships and providing professional advice on tax laws and planning.
- Collaborating with internal teams to facilitate the understanding of tax law and its implementation within the company.
- Preparing necessary documentation for audits and effectively responding to tax notices from government agencies.
- Utilizing tax preparation software and MS Office Suite to maintain efficient work processes.
- Handling pressure effectively and working within strict deadlines during peak tax seasons.
- Must possess a certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Proven experience as a Tax Preparer
- Extensive knowledge of tax preparation
- Familiarity with public accounting principles and procedures
- Experience in public accounting tax is highly desirable
- Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong computer skills, particularly with tax preparation software
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
