Description:

THE FOCUS IS YOU:

We are looking for a Tax Senior Accountant in the Estate, Gift, and Trust Practice in the Great Lakes Region.
The Estate, Gift and Trust Senior will primarily focus on trust, estate, gift, private foundation, and personal tax compliance for clients. The senior will simultaneously conduct multiple engagements while maintaining contact with clients. The senior will display technical and communication skills, and judgement essential for dealing with clients.

Responsibilities:

Regular duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Preparation of fiduciary income tax returns and maintenance of accounts and records for various estates and trusts
  • Coordination of Estate & Trust planning which would include the calculation of potential estate and/or gift taxes
  • Coordinating distributions to various trust beneficiaries and arranging for payment of estimated taxes
  • Advise and consult on Estate, Gift and Trust tax planning matters or proposed tax legislation in these areas with firm or client leadership
  • Consult and collaborate with attorneys, financial advisors, and other professional advisors to accomplish client goals and to represent the firm in the business community on estate and trust planning and tax preparation matters
  • Demonstrates knowledge of all technical aspects of the job, including related knowledge of necessary systems and procedures
  • Handles more complex tasks and projects within discipline/ function
  • Reviews work of less experienced staff and shares knowledge to develop staff technical skills
  • Recognizes complex technical issues, evaluates facts efficiently, and uses strategic decision-making skills to assist management in solving problems
  • Demonstrates savvy and understanding of interrelationship with other departments
