Description:

My client is a large, national healthcare company that is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax filings, cash management, and a solid understanding of various tax types, including excise tax, gross receipts tax, and franchise tax. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial records, managing cash transactions, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities:Tax Filings and Compliance:

  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns, including but not limited to excise tax, gross receipts tax, and franchise tax.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, staying current on any changes.
  • Assist in preparing documentation and reports for tax audits and coordinate with tax authorities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and organized tax records for all filings and payments.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL ACCOUNTING DUTIES:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the Accounting Manager in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Participate in internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
