Description:
We are seeking a Tax Staff - Public based in Walnut Creek, California. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting tax planning and research, as well as managing client engagements and deadlines within the public accounting industry.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review various tax returns including those of individuals, businesses, and exempt organizations
- Conduct research on tax laws, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance
- Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring deadlines are met effectively and efficiently
- Communicate directly with clients and regulatory agencies to address tax-related matters
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the tax return process
- Continually update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
- Use accounting software systems such as CaseWare, CCH IntelliConnect, CCH Prosystem, and CCH ProSystem Fx for efficient performance of duties
- Perform auditing and other accounting functions as necessary
- Ensure all entity formations and financial statements are in compliance with federal income tax return rules
- Prepare partnership tax returns when required.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
- Knowledge of CaseWare
- Experience with CCH IntelliConnect
- Familiarity with CCH Prosystem
- Proficiency in CCH ProSystem Fx
- Ability to perform Accounting Functions
- Experience in Auditing
- Knowledge of Compliance procedures
- Understanding of Entity Formation processes
- Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements
- Experience in preparing Federal Income Tax Returns
- Proficiency in Partnership Tax Returns
