Description:

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Staff - Public at a CPA firm, located in the Horsham, Pennsylvania area. This role involves preparing various tax returns, assisting tax planning, and conducting tax research. You will also be expected to communicate and meet with clients while working in collaboration with partners on review processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tax research to stay updated on the latest tax laws and regulations
  • Prepare a variety of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with partners to review and streamline tax processes
  • Assist in tax planning to help clients optimize their tax positions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, meeting with them to discuss their tax situations and provide solutions
  • Utilize software tools such as CCH Prosystem and Microsoft Office for tax preparation and planning tasks
  • Ensure accurate and efficient processing of corporate income tax and franchise tax returns
  • Handle tax-related inquiries from clients, providing clear and concise responses
  • Stay updated on the latest changes in federal income tax return regulations and IRS forms
  • Demonstrate understanding and proficiency in handling estate tax and individual tax return processes.
  • Proficiency in Accounting Functions such as financial reporting, ledger keeping, and budgeting.
  • Expertise in Corporate Income Tax and Corporate Tax Return.
  • Proficiency in using CCH Prosystem and CCH ProSystem Fx for tax preparation.
  • Knowledge of Creative Solutions - UltraTax and its application in tax accounting.
  • Experience with Estate Tax, Federal Income Tax Return, and Franchise Tax Return.
  • Understanding of Franchise Tax and its implications on corporate accounting.
  • Familiarity with Income Tax Accounting and Income Tax Return procedures.
  • Ability to work with Individual Tax Return processes and documentation.
  • Experience in using IRS Form 1120S and IRS Form 1065 for tax preparation.
  • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations applicable to the financial services industry.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification, such as a CPA, is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make well-judged decisions.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest industry trends and changes in tax laws.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
