Description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax Staff - Public to join our team in Riverside, California. In this role, you will be responsible for handling a variety of accounting tasks, including processing and maintaining customer accounts, carrying out duties of staff accountants, and handling complex situations and engagements. This opportunity is ideal for those with a strong background in accounting and a desire to work in a CPA firm.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out duties of staff accountants and handle complex situations and engagements
- Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently
- Maintain accurate customer credit records and client relations
- Operate computer technology and apply accounting software effectively
- Perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Identify problems early in engagements and deal with such problems promptly and efficiently
- Be responsible for financial statements, tax returns, audit, and accounting engagements under supervision
- Begin developing client relations and attract new business to the firm
- Research on some engagements, ensuring completion in a prompt, organized, and accurate fashion
- Maintain regular attendance and ensure compliance with all accounting regulations and standards.
- Hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a public tax staff role within a CPA firm.
- Proficiency in the use of accounting software systems.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of accounting functions and auditing.
- Familiarity with CCH IntelliConnect.
- Proven experience in maintaining compliance with financial regulations.
- Proficiency in entity formation and financial statement preparation.
- Experience in preparing corporate tax returns, federal tax returns, and federal income tax returns.
- Knowledge of federal income tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in using Lacerte Tax Software.
