POSITION SUMMARY

Flexjet, a premium aviation company with an ultra-modern fleet of private jets and a team with unrivaled experience is currently seeking a Tactical Control Centre (TCC) Supervisor to join our growing team. This is a full-time role based in either offices in Farnborough, UK or our office in Ta’Xbiex, Malta.
The TCC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and coordinating with each of the operations departments as needed to ensure the safe operation of every flight while providing the best possible service to our customers. This position involves proactively planning and anticipating for the operational needs of the company, works with all departments in operations and reports directly to the Tactical and Optimization Director.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within an aviation environment preferably Business Aviation.
  • Experience in a VIP flight dispatch environment, with worldwide and long range flight operations (dispatch certificate or dispatch license as well as ETOPS experience are an asset).
  • Ability to interpret weather and NOTAM information as well as airport/airspace NAV charts.
  • Familiarity with aircraft performance, (preferably with wide bodied aircrafts), international regulations, EASA rules, operations manual (OM) and flight entry requirements.
  • Significant operational experience, ideally gained within a Business Aviation environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with a range of audiences, including senior management, board members and VVIP clients
  • Experience of forming and maintaining working relationships across professional and operational boundaries
  • Ability and willingness to work early & late shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities:

  • The efficient processing and planning of Company aircraft operations in accordance with statutory requirements and Company policy as defined in the OM (overflight/landing permits, handling and fuel arrangements, additional supplementary services)
  • Flight dispatch and operations control (flight planning, crew briefing, meteo and NOTAM analyses, movement control, crew control, irregularity handling, emergency response)
  • Airport and Route analyses and feasibility checks to support commercial and flight operations department.
  • Ensuring all slots, permits and permissions are accurately requested, tracked, and obtained in a timeously manner.
  • In cooperation with the Ops team, monitoring changes such as CTOTs, Airport slots, diversions and re-route or re-plan as necessary to achieve the best possible outcome.
  • Training and mentoring Senior and junior operations controllers, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to handle their responsibilities. This includes staying updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Assisting the Managerial team with activating Operational Procedures, for example, Emergency Response Plans, Flight Watch and Overdue Aircraft Programs where applicable. These procedures form part of the Company’s Safety and Quality Management Manual
  • Preparation and monitoring the validity of operations with regards to: Crew flight briefs, Operational Flight plans, including airfield performance and airfield categorization, Flight Time Limitations (FTL) schemes.
  • To take responsibility for the daily workload and standards of the section of the operations team.
  • Follow, and provide positive feedback on, operations procedures that are introduced by the management team.
  • Assist the managerial team in ensuring staff are trained to the same standard, and assisting with coaching, developing and training staff as required.
  • Taking part in at least one emergency procedure practice annually.
  • Actioning FTL compliance by implementation of daily crew duty checks and entry of planned pilot movements onto Leon software system.
  • Assisting in or construct complex route requests to comply with regulations and company procedures
  • Review on a regular basis Operations notices and signing that they have been read until changes are included in the Operations Procedures Manual.
  • Assist the managerial team in investigating and complaints or deficiencies relating to the Operations department, responding accordingly and promptly, and to provide feedback on issues which arise during the normal course of operations
  • Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the TCC department..
  • Making strategic decisions related to flight planning, resource allocation, and emergency response.
  • Solving and finding effective solutions. This may involve coordinating with various departments, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Training and mentoring Senior operations controllers, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to handle their responsibilities. This includes staying updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure that all operations comply with aviation regulations and have a more comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and are responsible for implementing and overseeing compliance measures.
  • Serve as escalation point in Interaction with Owner services to provide information about flight where the Junior and Senior controllers cannot answer.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with owner services, CAMO and other departments.
  • Play a key role in developing and implementing emergency response plans. They may be responsible for coordinating responses to unexpected events, ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers and crew.
  • Taking responsibility of the inbox making sure all emails are actioned in timely manner.
  • Taking ownership of feasibility one note and ensuring all complex feasibilities are answered within the agreed time.
  • Maintains the overview of daily ops and ensure the workload is distributed evenly among the Operations Controllers and Flight Dispatchers
  • Carrying out spot checks and quality audits during shifts to ensure controllers and dispatchers are working in accordance with the procedures laid down in the TCC manual and published procedures
  • Taking ownership of high-profile flights ensuring that these flights have utmost priority and focus
  • Reports to the Senior Duty Manager
