Our school is at the heart of its community located on the south edge of Coventry in an economically disadvantaged area. Our two-form entry primary school, with a 68 place nursery, prides itself in the work we do to support our spirited community. What is the job role?
You will be working under the instruction and guidance of teaching and senior staff to deliver pastoral and learning support to pupils. You will play a key role in enabling access to learning for pupils, recognising and responding to their individual needs. You will assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.
Who are we looking for?

An enthusiastic, motivated and personable teaching assistant who is passionate about improving the learning outcomes for young people. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children (in the age range 3-11) and knowledge of the primary school curriculum, along with:

  • the ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups of children, teachers, parents and other members of staff
  • a sympathetic approach to parents and an understanding of the need for confidentiality
  • the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers and other members of staff
  • the ability to accept guidance and direction from teachers
  • the ability to use own initiative
  • the ability to adapt to the needs of different children
  • a commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school
  • a commitment to personal professional development.
