Description:

Foxwood Academy is seeking to appoint, as soon as possible, a talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to the role of Foxwood Teaching Assistant Level 2.
This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining the Foxwood team. Plans are underway to invest in a multi-million pound new-build and refit of our current campus to increase our numbers from 112 to over 262 children and young people.
Foxwood Academy is a friendly 4-18 special Academy in Nottinghamshire. We were graded good by OFSTED in October 2017 and again in March 2023. We have recently merged with a very local multi academy trust and see ourselves as a truly inclusive school. As we build our new school, our neighbouring secondary school are likely to start building their new school making the overall investment in our ‘learning village’ one of the biggest educational investments in the country. As you can imagine, we are very excited.
Our students needs are varied but in general we cater for children and young people with moderate and severe learning difficulties. Many of our children and young people have a diagnosis of Autism and a proportion have additional speech and language needs. Many have spent time in mainstream settings but move to Foxwood for a more specialised environment and curriculum.
Our children and young people are amazing, we consider special education to be the best kept secret in education and so we actively welcome applicants from both mainstream and special sectors.
We offer:
A positive and caring ethos and working environment
A committed, friendly, welcoming and supportive staff team
Excellent support from the headteacher, senior leadership team and governing body
High quality and bespoke professional and career development opportunities
Access to a wide range of free wellbeing services via the Schools Advisory Service (SAS)
Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme
Free parking on site.
If you believe you meet the criteria for this role, we would like to hear from you.
The White Hills Park Trust comprises six successful schools across Nottinghamshire, three primary, two secondary (one of which includes a sixth form) and a special school and we expect that we will continue to grow over time.
We are a partnership of schools, united by shared ethos and values, working in deep collaboration to give all of our children the best possible start in life. Our mission is to provide the very best opportunities and outcomes for young people, and our staff work closely together to deliver high quality teaching and learning, share good practice, pool resources and participate in joint projects for the benefit of pupils.

Our schools retain their independence, each with their own leadership, management and distinct character. However, we have a shared ethos and common values and we believe that we are stronger together. The role of the Trust is to empower our schools and support them by unlocking the benefits of working together:

  • Making the most of our resources
  • Running our schools with maximum efficiency
  • Bringing about continual school improvement
  • Developing and supporting our workforce
  • Providing opportunities for pupils
  • Becoming a force for good in our community
  • Establishing effective governance and leadership

If you would like to discuss the role, or have any queries, please contact James Hutchinson, Head Teacher - jhutchinson@foxwood.notts.sch.uk or on 0115 9177202.
Applications for the post must be submitted by 10.00 am on Monday 23 September 2024 via our online application form, which can be found at Vacancies (whptrust.org).
Interviews: week commencing 30 September 2024
