Description:
Applications are invited for the post of Teaching Associate (Researcher Development) based within the Cambridge Centre for Teaching and Learning (CCTL). We are the University’s central provider of professional development activity for postgraduate research (PGR) students. Our team work in partnership across the collegiate university to design and coordinate a diverse programme of activities and resources for postgraduate researchers, as well as acting as a hub for postgraduate researcher development provision in the University.
We are seeking someone who is creative and has exceptional planning, facilitation, organisational and interpersonal skills to help shape and deliver our programme of workshops and events for postgraduate research students. In addition to contributing to our workshop programme, there are opportunities to participate in the wider work of CCTL and associated scholarship. A background in the Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences is advantageous.
The successful applicant will have a doctoral-level qualification (or equivalent), some relevant experience of teaching and facilitation and will be encouraged to bring a highly professional and proactive approach to the role. With strong communication and organisational skills, you will be comfortable working both independently as well as collaboratively, both within and outside the immediate team. You will also be able to switch between tasks and manage multiple projects to competing deadlines. This position will be of interest to people with understanding of the context and challenges of postgraduate research and development within wider research culture. Applicants will enjoy working with colleagues and postgraduate research students to support their development. This role is offered at 1.0 FTE and is fixed term, owing to secondment of team member, until January 2027 or the earlier return of the post holder. CCTL is based within Education Services, located centrally on the New Museums Site and the expected working pattern is a minimum of three days on site per week.
