Description:
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- NMC Registration in Children Nursing (Current and Active) is essential for this role.
- An Honours Degree in an appropriate/ relevant subject area with professional qualification.
- A teaching qualification or acceptance of the requirement to acquire one if not already held.
- A PhD, or a Master’s Degree would be advantageous.
Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Fellow in Children and Young Peoples Nursing you will undertake teaching and assessment while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience. Based within the School of Health and care you will work closely with other academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience to ensure, as appropriate, relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.
Duties include:
- Teaching on modules and courses at HE levels 4,5,6 and 7 in relevant academic subject areas - teaching will predominantly be focused on delivering skill specifically related to Children and Young Peoples Nursing.
- Support the development and delivery of simulated practice learning experiences.
- Act as a practice supervisor to complete simulated practice-based assessments.
- Upholding high standards of academic integrity in all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment.
- The preparation and dissemination of both generic and specific formative and summative student feedback. On at least an annual basis to review assessment and feedback processes and student communication loops on modules.
- The development and demonstration of best practice in teaching, learning and assessment consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.
- The development and enhancement of an ‘active learning’ pedagogy as appropriate to the academic subject area.
- Acting as an Academic Assessor monitoring and collating student progression and achievement with the course, sign posting to appropriate support mechanisms as required.
