The Dyson School of Design Engineering is looking for a Teaching Fellow - Short Courses and Outreach to join the Team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone who has a postgraduate qualification (or equivalent) in Design Engineering or a relevant discipline and proven experience in:

  • outreach, community engagement, or a related role, preferably within an international educational setting
  • course development and execution for outreach and training purposes in higher education or pre-university programmes
  • building international relationships in higher education at the highest standards

The postholder should be familiar with a variety of strategies to promote educational programmes, extended learning, and e-learning alongside with a variety of student-centred strategies to promote and assess teaching and to provide constructive feedback.

A Teaching Fellow is sought to join a team of teaching fellows and academic staff and contribute to the delivery of our Learning and Teaching (L&T) mission and related innovation and enhancement of L&T practice promoting the Design Engineering programmes at the Dyson School of Design Engineering. This diverse role involves coordinating, tutoring, course development of seasonal schools, extended learning, e-learning, short professional development courses, outreach activities, and supporting the Design Engineering taught programmes.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to promote the School’s profile in education, its online presence, developing and coordinating seasonal schools and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programmes to a wide audience, including students, professionals, schools, universities, and community organisations. You will play a crucial role in increasing participation and engagement in our short course programmes, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring that our outreach efforts align with the College’s mission and goals. These programmes offer a range of academic and extracurricular activities designed to inspire and prepare students for future academic success.
