Description:

Overview
The USAID-funded ABC+: Advancing Basic Education in the Philippines project is a 7-year project funded by the US government. The activity will work with the Government of the Philippines’ Department of Education to support improved literacy, numeracy and social and emotional learning (SEL) in grade K-3. The project will target Regions V, VI, IVB, XII and BARMM.
The project was extended for another 2 years and with the transition, new organizational structure and new positions were created. With the onboarding of new staff joining the team, the project is proposing to conduct a team building, with the theme: Strengthening Team Dynamics, correlating to RTI IDC One Team Culture. The objective is to improve the workplace atmosphere by enhancing the performance of the team, to be able for new staff to be acquainted with the current staff, to build a constructive relationship among team members and adopt to the working style of the project.

ABC+ Project will be engaging 2 Consultants to facilitate the team building activity. The Consultants should come up with a design customized to ABC+ project on the following topics.

  • Strengthening a high-performing team
  • Leadership
  • Shared accountability and mutual trust
  • Communication and collaboration
  • Team dynamics and delegation

WORK REQUIREMENTS

The consultant will perform the work remotely for the pre and post works and on-site in Baguio City at the designated venue for the facilitation of the team building activity. S/he will be coordinating with the project management team and the COP and working closely with HR.
Responsibilities

The service provider will work on the following tasks:

  • To come up with a design customize to ABC+ team which will focus on team strengthening, leadership, shared accountability and trust among team members, better communication and collaboration across all staff, and team dynamics and delegation.
  • To conduct physical activities which will be participated by all which are in correlation with the topics above. It could be in the form of games that will foster camaraderie and include interaction among team members.
  • To be able for the new staff to be immersed with the team and feel a sense of belongingness and adopt to the working environment and culture.
  • Topics on leadership will include how to be a good leader who could take on or responsible for once action, understanding the importance of the team members and to know when to delegate work.
  • At the end of the activity, a documentation will be submitted to summarize the event, observations or evaluation and recommendations on how to maintain the good team dynamics intact.

Qualifications

  • Must be a degree holder in Business Administration, Organizational Development or related field;
  • With proven experience leading and facilitating strategic planning sessions for organizations;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • With critical thinking abilities;
  • Have a strong mastery of the subject matter;
  • Focus on the objectives of the activity.
