Description:

Provide a high standard of clinical care in ones own practice and the teams practice. Coordinate, and prioritise, the workload of the team and ensure that all aspects of clinical and administrative are adequately resourced within the limitations of the available staffing resources. Ensure the clinical caseload and clinical practice of members of the service is of a high standard and in line with best practice. Represent cases open to the service in cross divisional and system wide multi-disciplinary team meetings/case conferences/Community Treatment Reviews.
To manage caseloads and service delivery in accordance with, and in order to contribute towards, the attainment of Service/Trust productivity requirements. Ensure that staffs CPD needs are identified in line with the strategic requirement of the service and that staff develop the knowledge and skills required to meet the needs of clinical delivery, identifying to the Service Manager where there may be a skills deficit or lack of access to training required. Support the development of the professional practice in the service, ensuring the provision of clinical supervision. To undertake serious incident and complaint investigations on behalf of the wider Trust as requested by the Divisional Manager or The Quality and Safety Lead.
Implement service development and action plans within their team and ensure that lessons learnt from investigations are embedded within their teams practice. Ensure that information from Service and Trust meetings are passed to the team as appropriate and also that team views are represented at Service and Trust meetings. To deputise for the Service Manager when requested to do so. To work flexibly across a 7 day week service if the need arises.
Ensuring up to date agreed care plans, risk assessments and reviews are in place for all service users in line with LPFTs policies and national best practice are in place for all service users. Work with individuals and their carers to identify their healthcare need and circumstances and enable them to understand, manage and where appropriate change their behaviour. Protect people from abuse, neglect and harm. Enable individuals to develop independent living skills and live in the community.
To contribute to the development of the service, participating in management discussions and decision making through attendance at individual briefing sessions and group management meetings as required. Keep up to date on current practices in mental health, autism and learning disabilities, including participation in departmental training programmes and professional development education. To attend relevant regional and national contributing professional development activities to maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge in meeting the needs of service users. Promote equality and ease of access to Services.
Support the development and use of systems to monitor and review the Service Provision against national and local standards as a means of initiating and implementing change and ongoing improvement in services content, quality and delivery. Play an active role in relevant professional and service improvement groups, within the service and Trust-wide. Attend countywide groups for service area in health and/or social care and other agencies and to support their activities and the development of integrated and inclusive provision to ensure effective pathways of care. Develop and deliver information to enhance professional awareness of issues related to the emotional, behavioural and mental needs of service users in other services and/or agencies.
To advise the Service Manager, or Divisional Manager, of any undue occurrence reported or witnessed or complaint received. Work within Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust agreed policies and procedures, protocols, guidelines and standards at all times and promote competent working practice within an integrated, multi - disciplinary setting. Be aware of, understand and comply with the relevant professionals guidelines. The Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act and other relevant legislation at all times.
Conform to the organisational Clinical Governance and Patients Charter Standards. Promote and support the participation of service users, and their carers, in developing local services, information and guidelines through effective communication, consultation and to promote opportunities for service users and their families to contribute at all levels. Support practitioners within the service and beyond in assessing Mental Capacity and Best interest for service users. Promote best practice and.
ensure adherence to Safeguarding policies and procedures across services. You may occasionally be asked to undertake such other duties that are deemed necessary in order to support business continuity within the Trust. This will only include tasks where you are appropriately trained
