Expect to work closely with your manager and fellow Claims colleagues to drive files to resolution and also to interact and collaborate frequently with Regional Practice Leaders and the Underwriting teams. Together, you will be tasked with achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients by resolving and settling claims proactively.

What will your essential responsibilities include:

  • Lead the Property, Construction, Marine & Art Claims Team (7 colleagues), driving consistency and managing performance in Switzerland, ensuring superior client service is delivered with an eye towards continuous improvement as well as maximizing shared service opportunities in support of claims strategic plan and delivery of benefits and synergies.
  • Supervise specific Property, Construction, Marine & Art accounts and work closely with the representatives of our clients and brokers, supporting to drive all claims to their ultimate resolution and best possible outcome.
  • In a team of experienced handlers, independently investigate, negotiate and settle all assigned Property & Construction claims promptly and equitably within the provisions, authority level and specialization.
  • Proactively manage assigned Property & Construction claims, while setting and implementing the case strategy for these claims under the direction of the local Head of Claims, Practice Leaders and Claims Legal. Partner with internal and external counsel in setting and pursuing effective and cost-efficient litigation strategies for complex claims in litigation.
  • Proactively manage expenses through thoughtful expense management and claims best practice.
  • Interact and cooperate actively with our international claims network as well as other core business functions.
  • Coordinate and manage communication with internal and external stakeholders (underwriting, brokers, reinsurers, external vendors, etc.) to ensure the highest level of customer service.

SHARE YOUR TALENT

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • At least 10 years of experience in the national or international insurance industry.
  • Leadership: Role model by setting a high bar for performance, engagement and commitment. Significant experience managing a team of experts. Takes initiative and has the ability to lead independently as well as inspiring success and advancing talent and culture.
  • Strong communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, presentation and influencing and negotiation skills. Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of sophistication. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and efficiently juggle numerous concurrent responsibilities.
  • Seasoned in the handling of Property & Construction claims, working knowledge of applicable regulations; extensive experience managing, negotiating and resolving high exposure and complex claims.
  • Fluent in German and English, any other European language is of advantage.
  • Willingness to work independently with a significant amount of contact with the business and customers in an international, matrix organized, fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of claims handling, administration systems and processes.
