Description:

We are currently looking for a Team Lead Control Tower Operations (x|f|m) for the Freight Operations area within the Freight and Distribution Management Team at Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH. This full-time position is based at our headquarter in Göttingen and offers the possibility to work remotely on a regular basis. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the global operations and performance of the entire “Sartorius Control Tower” – our global Center of Excellence for all Transportation related activities. By monitoring the global transportation network and ensuring resilience as well as handling any upcoming Supply Chain risks you will be closely working with our internal stakeholders & external service providers. Additionally, you will focus on Operational Excellence for the extended support of the newly established Business Unit Advanced Therapy Solutions (ATS) and thereby help shape the future with us.

  • Carry the functional and disciplinary responsibility for our global “Control Tower” organization
  • Define operational KPIs to measure collaboration with service providers (damage rate, delivery and on-time performance, NPS score etc.)
  • Monitor all KPIs and tools to ensure the resilience and stability of supply chains for all shipments & execute necessary counter-measures
  • Handle all internal requirements of the individual Sartorius companies for logistical matters
  • Support special and CAPEX related transportation projects (incoming and outgoing)
  • Manage individual tasks within Freight & Distribution related to transportation
  • Act as an internal interface between the departments of internal logistics, SCM and Customer Service
  • Communicate regularly with existing and potential logistics service providers – prepare, conduct, and follow up on meetings with these service providers and prepare presentations

What will convince us

  • Completed commercial vocational training with relevant professional experience or a degree in business administration, ideally with a focus on supply chain and logistics
  • Several years of experience in the logistics and SCM industry, ideally in operational positions
  • Initial leadership experience is desirable
  • Good knowledge and understanding of complex, global supply chains in manufacturing companies as well as planning based on performance indicators
  • Experience in customs clearance and working with supply chain visibility tools
  • Proven software skills, e.g. MS Office and SAP and ideally project and change management certificates
  • A constructive and conscientious approach to work
  • Strong communication skills, fluent in English and German
