ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the L121 National Fleet Manager, the FSR Team Lead is responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of the Field Service Representatives [FSRs].
This role is an integral part of the Service Support Team at Rheinmetall Defence Australia. The FSR Team Lead will provide frontline leadership to the FSR teams for the In-Service Support function ensuring the delivery of Maintenance, Repair and Warranty Services to meet and exceed the contracted service and other support requirements. This role is key to ensuring our FSR’s are suitably supported at the frontline; as such are suitably representing Rheinmetall as the face of the Service & Support function with the customer.

The general and generic duties of the Team Lead Field Service Representative include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide frontline leadership to the FSR teams at both RDA and customers sites in the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance, advisory, diagnostic and fault-finding service and support;
  • Leading the review, allocation and completion of FSR delivered maintenance tasks, service and support functions in line with contract requirements, as per the work schedule in the relevant ERP / CMMS (ISSDB, SAP);
  • Provide frontline leadership for FSR resource utilisation, time management and efficiency improvements to best leverage our capability in line with contracted requirements;
  • Support the FSR team competency development in line with plans to ensure we develop and leverage a flexible, highly skilled team that is competent and seen by our customers and peers as experts in the platforms that we support;
  • Conduct Maintenance / repairs, diagnostic and technical investigations as a hands-on direct member of the FSR teams;
  • Coordinate all mobile FSR tools, equipment, workshop containers, support vehicles and services for the FSR teams as required by the specific exercise, activity or service being executed;
  • Coordinate FSR Maintenance Advisory Services as a subject matter expert on the relevant platforms, escalate issues requiring specialist support as required to support the platform;
  • Coordinate technical investigations associated with faults or damage to customer vehicles;
  • Oversee the preparation of any required reports associated with maintenance, warranty / technical investigations, including technical inspection reports or technical briefs;
  • Support the L400 Service Support Manager with the development of the Annual, Quarterly and Monthly Reporting as required; and
  • Fulfil other duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined by Line Manager from time to time.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

  • Relevant Trade qualifications in an Automotive Field;
  • 3 years’ experience running trade qualified maintenance teams of up to 10 technicians;
  • Proven experience maintaining a fleet of (light, medium and heavy) trucks/ armoured vehicles (tracked and wheeled), servicing and repairing diesel engine and heavy trucks/equipment and all sub-system components, specifically from European manufacturers;
  • Demonstrated experienced working with planning teams utilising CMMS based systems, specifically managing the work allocation and completion in line with work schedules;
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent tasks which have competing demands;
  • Ability to travel interstate and internationally for extended periods when required;
  • Ability to interpret technical information, documentation, in-service reports and test results;
  • High computer literacy skills, experience with ERP based CMMS systems, SAP preferred;
  • The ability to communicate/provide technical advice in both written and oral formats with a target audience ranging from the end user to the executive manager;
  • Being the face of the Rheinmetall brand when engaging with customers/stakeholders; and
  • Currently hold or the ability to gain the appropriate Australian Security Clearance
