Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Team Lead, Mechanical Systems, is a service based, technical position responsible for leading the maintenance and upgrades of all mechanical systems at the AGLC Head Office and Calder Warehouse Facilities. The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing the mechanical system maintenance plan, planning and implementing mechanical system projects, coordinating the work of Mechanical Technicians and contractors while providing hands-on service-related support when needed. The position may also coordinate projects or work containing trades other than mechanical, especially but not limited to, work where the mechanical system is the majority component, as determined by management.
In order to succeed in the Team Lead position, the successful candidate must be a service oriented team player, thoroughly knowledgeable of major and minor mechanical systems, LCCM/NPV concepts, previous successful project delivery and processes, procurement functions, and strong knowledge of the related Provincial and Federal legislations, regulations, and codes. They must be able to work productively and effectively in a service-based posture, with contractors, own personnel, other tradespeople and clients. You must also have the ability to function in a service capacity, adapt to ongoing changes, and accommodate the changes in a positive manner.
The successful candidate must have previous supervisory/managerial experience in leading a team of professional tradespeople in a corporate environment while fostering a positive working environment that supports communication, collaboration, staff engagement and high performance.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Journeyperson in a mechanical related trade (i.e. Plumber, etc.)
- 4th Class Power Engineering Certified as per ABSA Standards
- Minimum of five (5) years of commercial mechanical service experience within a Journeyperson capacity
- Previous supervisory/managerial experience leading a team of tradespeople and contractors in a corporate environment
- Previous experience with BMSC operation and programming training
- Current valid Class 5 Drivers License
Desirable:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical)
- IFMA or BOMI Facility Management training
- Project Management Certification
- P.Eng
NOTE: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, however,
this position does require a Journeyperson Ticket in a related mechanical trade.
