Description:
SUMMARY: Responsible for aiding supervisor in real-time management of operations. In absence of supervisor, Team Leader is responsible for maintaining the flow of production. The Team Leader ensures that the product is made properly, in the correct quantities, and at the correct time asper the customers’ specifications.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Have experience or working knowledge of processing equipment operation, processing specifications, and labeling requirements
- Must also have basic knowledge of mathematics and calculations relating to the production
- Good English skills and be able to complete required paperwork (productivity reports and other miscellaneous paperwork)
- Capable of regularly lifting and /or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift or move up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to work on production floor; a wet, cold, and loud environment
- Previous food manufacturing experience a plus

Responsibilities:
- Inspect all products for any non-conforming items before leaving the department
- Correct non-conforming items or hold product and notify supervisor
- Assist new employees and trainees in learning correct methods and procedures
- Coordinate personnel to staff lines to productivity standards
- Start lines on time and after every break
- Coordinate lines to meet scheduled deadlines most efficiently
- Produce to scheduled quantities
- Provide constructive guidance to employees on correct methods and procedures
- Ensure production crews produce product when needed
- Communicate to the supervisor on mechanical, material, and personnel proficiencies and deficiencies in a timely manner
- Enforce all safety rules and procedures (i.e., lock-out/tag-out, personal protective equipment, etc.)
- learn about all equipment, procedures, set up the line, fill out papers etc.
- Maintain clean, sanitary, and safe work practices, tools and area
- Fill out all required paperwork as requested
