Description:
Salary: The salary range for this position is CAD $38.12/Hr. - CAD $54.80/Hr. Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Protection Services, the Team Lead, Relational Security supervises the Relational Security Officers (RSO) team and provides work direction, and coordination, in the event of emergencies, to Relational Security Officers and staff of contracted security services, in accordance with departmental procedures. Grounded in the principles and practices of trauma-informed care, Indigenous cultural safety and humility, and equity, diversity and inclusion, the Team Lead delivers orientation and training and education curriculum for all RSO staff. The Team Lead purchases supplies, completes departmental investigations, participates in quality improvement meetings and develops and maintains guidelines and protocols for the department.

Qualifications / Skills and Education:
EDUCATION
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a college diploma in a related discipline such as criminal justice or business administration and five (5) years of recent related experience, including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Comprehensive knowledge in the principles and practices of violence prevention, de-escalation and relational safety.
- Knowledge in trauma-informed care, Indigenous cultural safety and humility, equity, diversity and inclusion, and anti-racism
- Demonstrated ability to interact with diverse and marginalized residents, patients, clients and families using a strengths-based approach that demonstrates respect and the inherent dignity of each person.
- Demonstrated ability to engage relationally and facilitate empowerment, voice and choice for diverse and marginalized residents, patients, clients and families.
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills in a complex environment.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
- Proven ability to mentor and motivate employees.
