INTRODUCTION:
Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.
We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team.

Responsibilities:
- Recommend ways to improve physical security
- Ensure that the team adheres to the Post Orders and CGL Policies & Procedures
- Handle confidential information with a high level of discretion
- Organize the training of new staff
- Prepare and submit the time sheets and schedules in the absence of the supervisor
- Provide secondary leadership to the team
- Secondary contact for the client and Regional Manager
- Monitor CCTV cameras
- Conduct patrols
- Respond to emergencies and building alarms
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and deportment
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional working relationship with employees, visitors, and clients
- Complete the site reporting requirements, and written reports when required
- Assist the supervisor in managing the security staff at 222 Jarvis Street (MGS Head Office), 311 Jarvis Street (Ontario Court of Justice), and 354 George Street (York Detention Centre)
- Other duties as may be required by the client
