Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Team Lead – Warehouse will play a crucial role in the warehouse team, overseeing a team to meet production targets while maintaining quality and efficiency. As a Team Lead – Warehouse, you will require leadership, technical, and organizational skills. You will supervise staff, organize workflows, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the designated warehouse team to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, while considering individual strengths and warehouse requirements.
  • Monitor team performance, providing feedback, guidance, and training to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as quality, engineering, production, and maintenance, to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolution of issues.
  • Implement and manage daily scheduling needs to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure materials are being stored and handled to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Implement quality control measures, conduct inspections as needed, and resolve any issues in a prompt manner.
  • Uphold and enforce workplace safety regulations and procedures by conducting regular safety meetings and training sessions for your team.
  • Ensure the warehouse area is clean, organized, and compliant with industry standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Maintain and report accurate material records data, including audit, adjustments, cycle counting, waste, downtime, efficiencies, and quality metrics.
  • Prepare and present reports on production performance and challenges.

Skills, Education, and/or Experience

  • Proven experience in a warehouse environment with leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of warehousing processes and machinery.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Valid forklift license required – will provide training if not already certified.
  • Ability to interpret complex drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • High precision and attention to detail to ensure the accurate handling of components.
  • Ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with materialmanagement software.
  • Relevant education or certifications in warehousing, logistics, or a related field are beneficial.
