ABOUT THE VENUE - BANQUETS
Recently awarded for Best Meeting & Events Space by TAA VIC. With almost 830sqm of ultra-modern conference, meeting and event space at W Melbourne, it is the stage for spectacular events. Equipped with fully adaptable conference equipment, world-class audio-visual facilities and contemporary cocktails and cuisine from our expert in-house catering team. The GREAT ROOM is a 426sqm pillarless ballroom with an abundance of natural light and 4mx5m LED wall. We’re looking for talent that are passionate about delivering events that spark imagination and set minds racing.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure staff is working together as a team to ensure optimum service and that guest needs are met.
- Inspect grooming and attire of staff, and rectify any deficiencies.
- Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking doors, etc.
- Inspect storage areas for organization, use of FIFO, and cleanliness.
- Complete scheduled inventories and stock and requisition necessary supplies.
- Monitor venue for seating availability, service, safety, and well being of guests. Complete work orders for maintenance repairs.
- Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests.
- Set tables according to event type and service standards.
- Answer questions on menu selections.
- Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, re-cook orders, and product availability.
- Relay additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
- Record transactions in the MICROS system at the time of order.
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and beverage.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day.
- Complete opening & closing duties, including restocking items and turning off lights.
- Present physical and accurate checks to guests and process payments.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
- Anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
- Communicate with clear and professional language.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
- Support the team to reach common goals.
- Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other team members.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Managers.
