Description:

WE ARE SEEKING AN EXPERIENCED AND DEDICATED TEAM LEADER TO OVERSEE THE NIGHT OPERATIONS OF OUR NEWLY ACQUIRED BUTCHERY IN TE RAPA.

As part of a fast-paced team, you will play a crucial role in managing night shift butchery operations.

This position demands strong leadership abilities, technical expertise in butchery, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to thrive under pressure in a dynamic environment. In this job, you will:

  • Supervise and lead a team of butchers and assistants during the night shift, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to production schedules.
  • Oversee the production process, including cutting, trimming, and preparing meat products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure all products meet Service Foods’ quality and safety standards, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of meat products, ensuring adequate stock for production while minimising waste and spoilage.
  • Train new employees on butchery techniques, safety procedures, and company policies. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members to optimize performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies at all times.
  • Creating high-quality cuts of meat according to designated specifications, including deboning techniques.
  • Wrapping and packing finished meat cuts and products to ensure proper hygiene and maintain freshness.
  • Packing processed meat stock into cartons for organized storage and future use.
  • Ensure that the stock is labelled correctly and packed as per Operational SOPs
  • Check to ensure all meat are stored properly and stock is rotated

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Immediate start
  • Full time, permanent
  • Hourly Pay rate: $30-$35 (based on experience)
  • Night shift allowance plus staff purchase discounts
  • Location: 8 Simsey Place, Te Rapa Park
  • Roster: Sunday – Friday Nights
  • Shift timings: 10.00 pm – 06.00 am
