Description:

The roleThe Team Leader, Communications role leads, mentors, and manages a small team of communications professionals, developing and implementing innovative communications strategies that support the work of the Department of Health to deliver health services for Queenslanders.
Key responsibilities include: - Providing expert advice and leadership in shaping communications strategy and delivery, demonstrating strategic thinking and exercising independent judgement.- Directing the development, implementation, and evaluation of communications strategy on topics and issues that are strategic priorities for Queensland Health.- Skilfully negotiating with internal and external clients to facilitate strategic assessment and triaging of both planned and unplanned communications projects.- Developing and nurturing high-level relationships with leaders across Queensland Health, including HHSs, other Queensland Government agencies and key stakeholders across the health sector- Influencing, negotiating and liaising effectively with staff at all levels - Leading and developing a small team of communications professionals
The successful personThe essential requirements for this role are: - Demonstrated experience in delivering significant or complex communicationprojects within agreed budgets and timeframes, ensuring all output is aligned to strategic priorities.- High level communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in partnership and build and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.- Excellent project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to plan and manage the delivery of numerous competing priorities.- High level analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in a communication context.- Demonstrated experience in leading and coaching communications professionals
