THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are currently seeking a passionate, self-driven and resilient data acquisition and interpretation Team Leader to join our new Leadership Team for Specialty Testing. The mission of our new Leadership team will be to work alongside Senior Managers at the lab to drive staff engagement up, optimise operations and improve service delivery to meet current and future customer needs.

Your key duties will involve:

  • Ensuring the laboratory functions efficiently through organisation of workload, prioritisation of testing and management of costs.
  • Optimising instrument capacity through scheduling of samples and management of workflow.
  • Liaising with the Instrument Technical Specialists and relevant KTPs to help resolving technical matters related to our LC/GC instruments with agility.
  • Co-ordinating staff to meet KPI’s, turnaround time and specific customer requirements.
  • Leading, coaching and developing the team including monitoring and managing performance and annual performance reviews.
  • Reporting regularly to the Service Manager all operational or productivity issues and any Customer complaints or delays in testing.
  • Ensuring all operations, processes and procedures are optimised and carried out in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Providing support and oversee the maintenance of Quality Systems, Document Change Control, training, NCRs and laboratory investigations.
  • Contributing to Safety and Wellbeing continuous improvement and ensure safe work practices are followed.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience with people management and employee relations
  • Previous experience working in a large highly regulated commercial laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025)
  • Graduated with a Bachelor of Science or similar with previous experience (5 years +) laboratory operational management experience.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft 365 (Office) and database type applications
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral, able to work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Eye for detail, continuous improvement mindset and always striving for excellence.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skill
