Job Description
This is a unique opportunity to work with high tech optical sorting equipment and lead a group of down to earth and motivated engineers that are located across Australia. It’s a fast-paced environment where no one day is the same, and you will be fully supported and empowered in your role.
The ideal person will be customer obsessed with an electro-mechanical technical skillset and enjoy spending time in the field working alongside your customers and your team providing oversight, peer support and guidance. This position supervises our field service representatives and performs routine and/or emergency breakdown on electrical and mechanical systems, as well as assisting with new machine installations for a variety of technology solutions supplied by Tomra Food.
The position can be based in either Queensland or Victoria. We are flexible on the working location however you will need to be close to a domestic airport.

  • Manage performance, career, and succession plans for direct team
  • Develop a high performing & accountable team and facilitate the team’s achievement of goals & objectives
  • Supervise service delivery in region and act as liaison between customer and company to foster and maintain positive relationships with customers
  • Collaborate with customer care centre, service management, project engineering and sales team to coordinate FSE movements to optimize utilization and meet service needs according to business priorities
  • Assist with commissioning and operation of machinery, instruct operators in set-up and operating procedures; provide technical and practical answers to customer’s questions or problems
  • Prepare and submit reports as required, also ensuring your team are completing appropriate reports, work orders and timesheets on a timely basis.
  • Work with service manager to develop and implement the business short-, medium- and long-term priorities in accordance with the business strategy, to achieve short- and long-term success
  • Accurately plan and forecast the resource demand vs supply of our resources

Qualifications

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent formal training or job experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology certificate from an accredited school is required
  • Proven success in managing distributed field teams consisting of both direct and indirect resources to deliver high value complex electrical and mechanical solutions / services
  • Expertise with project and/or service management software such as CRM/ERP systems
  • Ability to manage dynamically changing priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar field with relevant experience in electro-micromechanical technologies
  • Experience in servo motor controls is preferred; experience with packaging and/or printing machinery, a plus
  • Ability to drive without restrictions in residency country
  • Ability to undertake extensive domestic travel, with up to 50%
