Description:
Responsible to perform venepuncture on patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting, preparing patients for venepuncture, ensuring they are given the opportunity to discuss their concerns and individual needs Responsible for delivering additional phlebotomy activity such as glucose tolerance tests, paediatric phlebotomy (age 0 to 16) and PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter) line as the service develops Responsible for the delivering training and mentoring of new staff for all routine and non-routine phlebotomy and ensure that all policies and protocols are adhered to Responsible for delivering training Trust wide to ensure phlebotomy carried out by non phlebotomy staff is safe and competency assessed Manage the e-roster system including rotas, annual leave and sickness monitoring and to escalate any rota issues to Head of Phlebotomy Investigation of untoward incidents including Datix and complaint
