Description:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a sanitation environment (food/bakery experience is desirable) with a proven track record of prior leadership experience
  • Must be a demonstrated leader who easily interacts with others and is adept at leading and motivating a team to meet demands established by the schedule
  • Be able to lead, Coach and mentor a team of 10-15 team members including temporary associates and permanent Team Members
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication skills, along with simple mathematical abilities
  • Attention to detail and able to meet cleanliness standards set by the company
  • Scissor Lift license is an asset
  • Familiar with internal and external inspections
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of GMP’s, HACCP, BRC & O.H.S.A required
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) experience with EAM, SAP and Kronos an asset.
  • Have mind-set of continuous improvement and passionate about sanitation and understand its importance to safety and quality of manufactured food products.
  • Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook), previous
  • Post-secondary education an asset

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW :

Reporting to the Bakery Manager, as the Sanitation Leader-Supervisor you will provide hands-on leadership to the Sanitation Team on all shifts at your own site to ensure all related tasks are performed properly. This includes cleanliness of the plant and external premises, all equipment, machinery and utensils in the production process. You will be responsible for ensuring all your Lead Hands and Team members follow Wonderbrands’s food safety guidelines while completing their work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and assign daily tasks of the crew in accordance with training and staffing levels
  • Perform random inspections during sanitation time to ensure proper and detailed cleaning.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation records
  • Perform GMP and Internal Inspections of the facility, to communicate results and follow up completion of corrective actions.
  • Oversee the development and execution of the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) through the scheduling of labour to clean and sanitize equipment, surfaces and plant environment to accomplish sanitation practices according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s) and have it aligned to EAM work orders.
  • Keeps detailed records and follow up on all sanitation-related activities and issues, such as inspections, violations, deficiencies, and corrective actions
  • Promote the company’s health and safety program, maintain a safe working environment and ensure continued compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and JHSC recommendations
  • Train and coach the sanitation team to ensure clear communication and understanding of the job requirements
  • Conduct pre-shift huddles and effectively provide feedback to Team Members regarding positive work performance and opportunities for improvement
  • Establish a strong culture of Food Safety with all team members and ensure all are educated on compliance, legal requirements and food safety standards, policies and protocols
  • Complete and Maintain appropriate documentation to identify all tasks completed, or required future actions
  • Establish Strategic planning to improve efficiency and overall job flow and sanitation effectiveness
  • Coordinate with QA and production departments to ensure best cleaning/sanitizing practices are being implemented on daily basis
  • Participate in capital projects planning, new equipment installations and new product lines by providing sanitation recommendations and expertise
  • Manage and ensure cleaning program are effectively proceeded within the cleaning time frame.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Corporate Sanitation Leader/VP Sanitation
  • Assures proper training is provided to the TMs and maintain appropriate training records
