SUMMARY
Reporting to the Site Leader and Operations Leader, the Team Leader - Shipping & Receiving is responsible for the efficient shipping/receiving of packaging and production materials, in a fast-paced, just-in-time (JIT) food manufacturing environment.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment (food industry experience preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of leadership experience required
- Must have a valid forklift operator license (Counter Balance/Raymond Reach) from a recognized training provider
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task
- Strong communication, organization, problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems
Responsibilities:
- Leads by example and fosters an environment of mutual respect and team work among Team Members
- Conduct pre-shift huddles and provides feedback for Team Members
- Leads, coaches, mentors and trains Team Members
- Oversees the receipt and warehousing of incoming ingredients and packaging materials
- Responsible for managing all material transfers to production
- Responsible for scheduling all drivers/trucks/carriers
- Responsible for inventory accuracy and cycle counting process
- Assists planning team with managing inventory levels
- Ensures Operations Management System (OMS) procedures are being followed (entering inventory into the operating system)
- Ensures all health and safety and food safety principles are followed and adhered to
- Maintains excellent working relationships and teamwork with internal departments, external customers and suppliers
- Updates team on daily issues and fosters an environment of continuous improvement
- Performs additional duties as needed
