SUMMARY

Reporting to the Site Leader and Operations Leader, the Team Leader - Shipping & Receiving is responsible for the efficient shipping/receiving of packaging and production materials, in a fast-paced, just-in-time (JIT) food manufacturing environment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment (food industry experience preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of leadership experience required
  • Must have a valid forklift operator license (Counter Balance/Raymond Reach) from a recognized training provider
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication, organization, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems

Responsibilities:

  • Leads by example and fosters an environment of mutual respect and team work among Team Members
  • Conduct pre-shift huddles and provides feedback for Team Members
  • Leads, coaches, mentors and trains Team Members
  • Oversees the receipt and warehousing of incoming ingredients and packaging materials
  • Responsible for managing all material transfers to production
  • Responsible for scheduling all drivers/trucks/carriers
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy and cycle counting process
  • Assists planning team with managing inventory levels
  • Ensures Operations Management System (OMS) procedures are being followed (entering inventory into the operating system)
  • Ensures all health and safety and food safety principles are followed and adhered to
  • Maintains excellent working relationships and teamwork with internal departments, external customers and suppliers
  • Updates team on daily issues and fosters an environment of continuous improvement
  • Performs additional duties as needed
