CQUniversity is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to lead our Student Advising team and make a significant impact on student experiences and outcomes. As the Team Leader, you will provide operational leadership to a team of Student Advisers and Student Advising Specialists within our multi-channel student service centre. Your team will deliver personalised advice and mentoring, ensuring students receive coordinated support, information, and guidance from application to graduation.
In this role, you will play a crucial role in their success by offering proactive, supportive engagement, increasing access to specialised services, and helping students overcome obstacles. You will work collaboratively with the wider University community to ensure a holistic approach to student support, enhancing success and retention, while adhering to our SPOT philosophy (Solutions-focused, Personalised, One University, Trust) to provide the highest level of service.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in information systems and Microsoft software applications.
  • Exceptional time management, organisational and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated experience managing a team in a customer service environment.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with proven success in resolving complex client issues.
  • A completed degree with subsequent relevant experience in a student support discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience in a student-centred or similar environment and/or training.
