Responsibilities:

The job holder will manage a team of Study Programme Administrators within the Faculty Administration of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine.

Management of the team:

  • Set work standards, interpreting functional objectives for the team to ensure goals are met
  • Monitor the effective performance of staff in delivering against these
  • Co-ordinate and integrate team activities, resolving both routine and complex issues and ensuring the effective delivery
  • Contribute to long-term service and resources planning
  • Ensure an effective balance of work across the team
  • Motivate and coach team through the identification of training and development needs to equip them to deliver effective and responsive services
  • Actively involved in selection, recruitment, assessment of team members and ensure retention of talented employees

Reporting, communication and advisory :

  • Ensure ad hoc and periodic reporting to Head of Faculty Administration
  • Make presentations where required to senior colleagues and teams
  • Share best practice and achievements to other team members
  • Design and implement policies and procedure for the area of expertise
  • Implement new processes, standards within the team
