TEAM LEADER - YOUTH JUSTICE

  • Join Victoria’s Youth Justice team.
  • Promote the personal development of young people and contribute to the reduction of crime in the community.
  • Contribute to improving the outcomes of young people’s futures.
    The department’s Youth Justice service provides programs and resources to assist young people to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to manage their lives effectively without further offending. Through supervision, offending related programs and linkages to appropriate support services, the Youth Justice Service promotes opportunities for rehabilitation and contributes to the reduction of crime in the community.
    The Youth Justice team provides community-based supervision and a range of case management and support services for young people who are appearing before, or have been sentenced by, the Children’s Court and adult criminal courts and who have received youth justice supervised orders. The legal mandate for Youth Justice is provided by the Children Youth and Families Act (CYFA) 2005.

The opportunity

  • Ongoing, full-time position based at Ringwood VIC.
  • CYF 4 role: $104,544 - $115,355 per year plus super.
  • Plan and manage casework and the day-to-day delivery of services to clients including the professional supervision of staff engaged in providing statutory supervision and case management of young people subject to Youth Justice Court Orders.
  • Plan, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate client service plans and short and long-term intervention strategies for clients; review assessments and recommendations made by others and develop operational guidelines.
  • Provide authoritative advice and support to Youth Justice workers on non-routine case issues, problems and solutions and expert opinions to professionals in other disciplines; lead or participate in case conferences with other professionals
  • Identify and apply appropriate research in the formulation of appropriate interventions and the development of innovative solutions to complex and difficult cases, drawing on a range of professional networks to identify gaps in case assessments made by others.
