Job Summary Job Summary: This role is multifaceted, requiring a balance of leadership skills, clinical expertise and a commitment to maintaining the delivery of high-quality care. As a pivotal member of the team, you will play a key role in co-ordinating and leading a group of dedicated clinicians, ensuring the effective functioning of the clinical team, the safe delivery of care, and excellent patient experience. The postholder will be expected to role model the behaviours and values of our organisation whilst demonstrating your clinical responsibilities and specialised skills as an ADHD Practitioner. This requires you to be an independent / supplementary Prescriber, supporting patients throughout their treatment pathway which will include the triage, assessment, diagnosis and where appropriate treatment of adults and or Children in the care of ADHD 360.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide strong leadership and management of the clinical team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. You will be responsible for the Line Management of the clinical team ensuring adherence to company policies, process and regulatory standards. You will be required to support team members in relation to caseload management, clinical capacity and planning of clinical delivery. Have the ability and willingness to hold productive, but challenging conversations, and follow formal processes where your team members are not meeting quality standards or performance targets.
You will be responsible for all matters relating to line management including sickness management and performance management, preceptorship and probation. The postholder is required to manage informal resolutions to concerns / complaints received from patients and families. You will assist the patient experience team to respond to formal complaints where an informal resolution has not been successful, which will require an investigation of the concerns and identify opportunities for improvement and a written response. The Team Lead will ensure the implementation of agreed action plans from complaints and patient safety incident reviews.
Conduct regular team meetings at a frequency of at least monthly to share knowledge, cascade information, and address challenges. You will use these meetings to enhance team cohesion and ensure a unified approach to patient care, ensuring consistency across ADHD 360 service. Through collaboration with the team Secretary Group, ensure seamless coordination and efficient operations and addressing any issues that may impact patient care or experience. To be the first point of contact for your team members to report and record clinical incidents, taking all necessary actions to ensure the immediate safety of patients, their families and staff.
complete a range of patient safety incident reviews and investigations at the instruction of the Directors and Clinical Assurance Management Team. You will be required to analyse and interpret a range of facts and situations and make appropriate recommendations to learn from the findings of the incident. Experience of overseeing & managing mental health risk &/or safeguarding concerns raised by your team. This must include the ability to contain and support so they can carry out their role efficiently and promote a culture of safe management of risk.
You will be the first point of contact for support regarding the management of risk providing advice and guidance and ensuring adherence to the relevant legislative and legal requirements. Working collaboratively with the Clinical Lead with the induction of all new staff within your team, supported by the wider programme of onboarding within the organisation, and will provide support to the clinician throughout the probationary period as required. The postholder will possess well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to patients, their families, carer and other professional colleagues both within and outside of the organisation. The postholder will ensure that all appraisals, annual leave requests and sickness monitoring are up to date for their allocated team.
Working collaboratively with the Clinical Lead and HR with the monitoring of clinical performance and undertake performance management plans where necessary. Take responsibility for own continuous professional development, maintaining a sound level of professional knowledge and competence in line with professional development plan agreed at annual appraisal. In the absence of the Clinical Lead, there is an expectation that you support in their duties as and when required. In addition to this role, the postholder is required to meet the requirements of the ADHD Practitioner Job description as outlined below: Assess adults, and/ or Children and young people for ADHD, considering differential and/or co-occurring conditions to make diagnostic decisions.
You will practice as a non-medical prescriber (independent/supplementary prescribing) to develop and implement treatment and titration plans, ensuring physical observations are obtained and reviewed. You will support the patient throughout their treatment journey, conducting regular follow ups for adults and/or children under your care until they have reached stability and optimisation. Perform patient risk assessments and review safeguarding needs in conjunction with treatment strategies during the patient journey. Responsibility for ensuring that the prescription is written as per legal requirements for controlled and non-controlled drugs Maintain accurate and timely client records on Chrysalis and associated clinical templates, adhering to professional requirements for accurate record keeping, and the recording of prescriptions in accordance with ADHD 360 policy.
Demonstrate a clear understanding and adherence to security in relation to prescription security and management. You will be responsible for recognising and reporting clinical Incidents and near misses to support the culture of continuous learning and improvement. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified nurse, current UK registration and PIN with the NMC, Pharmacy Practitioner with GPhC registration, Medic on GMC Register without practice restrictions (Essential) Qualified Medical or Non-medical Prescriber (NMP) with current registration (Essential) Specialist ADHD Nurse/ Pharmacist with experience (Desirable) To work unsupervised and independently within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, or GPHc Standards. (Essential) Expert level of understanding of the pharmaceutical treatment options for ADHD (Desirable) Experience managing and supervising staff, including dealing with organisational change, conflict management and performance management.
(Essential) Experience of participation in Clinical Governance processes including Clinical Audit, prioritising patient safety and quality. Demonstratable Skills: Demonstrable ability to connect with and provide support for children and/ or Adults Familiarity with EPR systems Willingness to learn and follow clinics standards of practice Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients Sufficient IT skills to be able to undertake a remote post with virtual assessments Ability to work alongside others within a multi-disciplinary team setting.
