WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a National and/or State/Territory team staff role and/or working with the Blind community
  • Proven experience building and maintaining trusted relationships with diverse groups of people, creating a psychologically and culturally staff and supportive environment
  • Proven experience in understanding and advising on the needs of the Blind Community
  • Showing care to the players, being honest, fair, consistent and demonstrating values aligned with Cricket Australia

Responsibilities:

We have an opportunity for a Team Manager, who will be responsible for managing key tasks for the Australian Men’s Blind Cricket Team and providing supporting to the National Team Program, developing great people and role models, delivering high quality national programs and securing victories in international events across the appointment period.

Reporting to the National Programs Lead, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Working with and providing advice to coaching staff and Cricket Australia to understand and support online workshops, meetings, training programs and tours
  • Ensuring a strong connection between Blind Cricket Australia, Cricket Australia and the National Program
  • Regular communication with players and coaching staff regarding Blind Cricket news, rules, classifications and eligibility
  • Supporting players in accessing local training facilities by communicating regularly with State and Territory Cricket Associations around needs requirements
  • Undertaking any key ‘Team Manager’ duties necessary when on tour, including supporting the team with meals, laundry and day to day travel requirements
  • Working closely with National Team staff to achieve success, while ensuring a quality and positive environment and culture is maintained
  • Travel will be required in this role across the upcoming season; a National Training Camp, Blind Ashes Series and National Cricket Inclusion Championships
