Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full-time Team Manager role in our adult Countywide ‘Living in Care Home Review Team’. We are looking for a manager passionate about enhancing the team from the excellent start by the existing postholder since the team’s inception resulting from an organisation restructure in April 2022. The countywide team consists of 24 practitioners and senior social workers.
Co-production and collaborative work with a wide range of stakeholders is essential in this role to ensure the best outcomes for our citizens. The team work diligently to complete yearly reviews and work alongside care home providers to ensure continuous improvements in practice standards.
Due to the geographical size of Cambridgeshire the team are all mobile workers and can be based in care homes for part of the week. All team members utilize the council building in offices across Cambridgeshire. The successful candidate and will be expected to work in the office for 2 days per week, predominately in Huntingdon and St Ives alongside team practitioners.
The team support adults over the age of 18 who have physical disabilities, and older people, alongside their families and informal carers.
The service welcomes applicants from a varied background as all social work backgrounds and skills are relevant and transferable to the service for those with an interest in developing new skills and knowledge around disability, complex needs and leadership.

What will you be doing?
The role is varied on a day-to-day basis and allows for a high level of multi-agency working, creativity and autonomy. The successful candidate will be part of an established group of Team Managers working across our Adult Social Care services and will manage a team of Senior Social Workers, Social workers and Adult Support Coordinators providing robust leadership, guidance and good quality support. The postholder should be able to professionally utilise a Strengths Based Approach, and be able to make evidence-based decisions to promote the safety of others.
The service is busy, lively and interesting and would ideally suit a manager who is proactive and adaptable in leading a team, and who has a passion for ensuring that the adults receiving care and support in our area receive a positive experience when having their needs met.
About you
You will hold a current Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
You must have experience of managing people and performance, and also leading and managing change. We are looking for someone who is a skilled communicator, with strong organisational skills, and the ability to coordinate and manage the competing demands for services. Knowledge of working with care homes would also be beneficial.
Experience of working with adults with care and support needs and carers is essential along with a good understanding of the underpinning legislative frameworks which guide practice, including; The Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Continuing Health Care guidance.
The successful candidate will need to be able to travel independently between locations within Cambridgeshire.
