I’m Caroline, the service manager, for our Adult ADHD clinic, we are looking for a dynamic and innovative team lead to transform service delivery. We have a fantastic clinical team and are looking for a visionary Team Lead to support us in managing the increasing demand and shaping our service to enable us to provide outstanding patient care.
This position has a dual responsibility, serving as both the Operational Team Lead and a key clinical contributor. The ideal candidate should hold Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) qualification for the clinical aspect of the role; however, we are open to considering individuals without NMP training if they can showcase strong leadership qualities, dynamism, and substantial experience in leading teams.
Our service provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adults with ADHD. Across the country demand for ADHD services are increasing. Therefore, we are seeking a candidate with proven expertise in managing and delivering services amidst substantial demand and ensuring a seamless and effective operational flow to support high-quality, and efficient, patient care.
Our team is based on our beautiful Fulbourn site in Cambridge with free parking and all the resources offered by our new Resource Centre, including our onsite café.
As the Team Lead for the Adult ADHD clinic, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the service. We feel it is important that our senior leaders are visible and accessible so we would expect you to work flexibly to support your team and drive innovation and development.
In this role you would also be supporting the clinical function of the service, completing initial assessments, medication initiations, reviews, and annual reviews. We would expect you to work with the consultants and multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients are receiving the highest quality clinical care possible. As team manager we would expect you to work with patients, carers, and staff to provide assistance, support and advice when required in a professional and timely manner.

To triage/screen new referrals alongside the Clinical Lead
To undertake ADHD Diagnostic assessment for people referred to the Adult ADHD Service.
To practice as a supplementary/independent non-medical prescriber initiating and reviewing medication.
To review with service users their response to prescribed medication in accordance with the local Adult ADHD Shared Care Agreement
To be able to communicate with and meet the needs of service users, their families, and carers as appropriate.
Provide a high level of clinical expertise in the assessment, management, and care of people with ADHD
To actively participate in clinical supervision
Ensure good communication with other members of the team
To work in partnership with other Trust Services and agencies to gain the best person-centred outcomes for the service user
Utilise recent research findings in the advancement of best practice and in the delivery of an evidenced based service.
Identify and be responsive to the diverse cultural, social, and spiritual needs of all patients.
Promote general health education and specifically mental health education to the client group.
Identify and intervene proactively in situations that contribute to an unsafe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Ensure the effective and efficient use of all resources.
Be aware of the responsibility to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors
Perform any other duties that may be required from time to time
To ensure that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard and within current quality initiatives within the area of work.
Ensuring the identification, recording and use of relevant performance data
The post holder will work collaboratively with all disciplines as part of a multidisciplinary team to assure a high standard of care, working collaboratively to resolve issues.
Uses knowledge of business and management principles and strategies for the promotion of quality developments and efficient use of resources.
Promotes accountability for practice and strives to attain the highest standards.
Promotes and uses evidence-based approaches to practice management
To ensure that services are delivered within an appropriate clinical governance framework, monitoring, and evaluating standards of care, and to raise concerns with Service Manager as necessary including through active use of the Risk Register.
To undertake investigations of complaints, clinical reviews, and Serious Incidents
To chair meetings and provide cover for the Service Manager
Adopt an appropriate style with staff for achieving group objectives monitoring and evaluating workloads. Providing vision and inspiration through effective clinical leadership to ensure that the skills and competencies of staff are actively developed as appropriate
Be conversant and proactive with Government legislation such as the Mental Health Act, Clinical Governance and NHS Long Term Plan, NICE Guidelines and Quality Standards, Mental Capacity Act and the Care Act.
Encourage, promote and maintain effective communication with other CPFT teams and services and external or statutory agencies to promote continuity of clinical care for service users.
To liaise with other disciplines involved in the provision of therapeutic interventions on a regular basis to ensure seamless care for service users.
Ensure patient care is delivered within the least restrictive environment.
Ensure effective and appropriate deployment of staff, monitoring retention, sickness, absenteeism, working performance and taking appropriate action at the earliest opportunity.
Manage human and budget resources to an optimum effect, reporting to the Service Manager as appropriate.
Motivate, train and develop staff (appropriate to banding and roles) through Personal Development Plans and Individual Performance Reviews to enable staff to work to their full potential
