Description:

PERMANENT CONTRACT, 37 HOURS PER WEEK, 52 WEEKS PER YEAR

Key Purpose:

  • To deliver the twelve-week Prince’s Trust Team programme or similar programme for learners.
  • To recruit, select and support a Team of young people aged 16 - 25 through a personal development programme centred around teamwork in the community. If needed to fulfill the same duties for a Team of adult learners (19yrs+) through a comparable programme
  • To support each participant to complete the relevant qualification by the end of the twelve-week programme.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Recruitment and promotion for the Team Programme in BaNES
  • Recruit a mix of people to participate in each programme, ensuring the required paperwork is completed for each individual.
  • Liaise with Community Partners both to secure referrals and for collaborative work within the programme delivery
  • Liaise with College marketing team to promote the programme.
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time which are commensurate with the grade of the job.
  1. Plan and deliver the 12-week Team programme for Bath College
  • Work with the Prince’s Trust Team Toolkit to plan and deliver the 12-week personal development programme in line with the Toolkit requirements. Three programmes to be delivered per academic year.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Team and with the full support of Bath College, take responsibility for the Health, Safety and Welfare of the Team during all parts of the programme.
  • Lead the Team on a 3 day residential experience.
  • Work closely with volunteers throughout the twelve-week programme.
  • Produce risk assessments to the required standards prior to each of the Team’s activities.
  • Inform Bath College and the Prince’s Trust of all accidents, incidents and near misses and complete appropriate records.
  • Supervise the Team’s liaison with Community Organisations and agencies to plan, prepare and carry out appropriate Community Projects and Individual Work Placements working alongside the business development team in accordance with programme requirements.
  • Follow appropriate disciplinary procedures with the young people in line with Bath College and Prince’s Trust rules, regulations and codes of conduct.
  • Develop knowledge of additional programmes and pathways likely to benefit the support, development and progression of Team members after their programme.
  1. To deliver Prince’s Trust Team qualification to the standards required and work with Bath College to prepare the young people’s portfolios for assessment, internal verification and external verification.
  • Set programme objectives, to meet both team and individual needs and to deliver the expected learning outcomes.
  • Guide Team members through the completion of their Individual Learning Records and carry out regular individual and team reviews incorporating the development of actions plans.
  • Submit accurate reports as necessary to Bath College and the Prince’s Trust local representative contributing to the continuous quality improvement of both organisations, to include a final Team Report recording the activities undertaken by each Team and individual progress.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Teaching qualification (Level 3 or higher, may be working towards this)
  • Educated to Level 3 (A level) or above.
  • Equivalent of GCSE grade 4 or above in English & Mathematics
  • Full driving license with access to own transport
