Description:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems and post-secondary teaching experience. Applicants who have completed Grade 12 and possess an equivalent combination of teaching and work experience in their area of expertise may be considered.
Minimum 5 years recent relevant experience.

Candidates will be comfortable in a computerized environment and demonstrate knowledge of programs relevant to their discipline.

In-depth knowledge required of:

  • Components and peripherals
  • Wireless networking
  • Computer and internet security
  • Scripting for network and system administrators
  • Local area network (LAN) management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • An Instructor’s Diploma or valid BC Teacher’s Certificate appropriate to the instructional assignment.
  • A degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems and post-secondary teaching experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide teaching and other educational services to participants registered in the program, including advice and instructional assistance as it pertains to course content.
  • Ensure that participants understand and comply with the rules and policies governing the operations of Okanagan College as outlined in the OC Calendar.
  • Monitor and evaluate participant progress in the course.
  • Prepare and maintain course materials, course outlines, lesson plans, instructional aids, assignments, exams, and attendance records.
  • Maintain and submit grade assignments, exams and grading sheets to the Program Administrator/Coordinator.
  • Communicate with the Program Administrator/Coordinator on any issue related to student participation or course delivery.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
