Description:

TRUE NORTH SPORTS + ENTERTAINMENT IS LOOKING FOR A RELIABLE AND RESOURCEFUL TECH SUPPORT SPECIALIST TO JOIN OUR TEAM.

The Tech Support Specialist will serve as the primary contact for IT services and support requests at True North. This role is essential in maintaining all aspects of our Information Technology systems while delivering exceptional service.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Demonstrated experience as a help desk technician or in a similar support role, maintaining critical IT systems.
  • Relevant technical training, including Community College or University coursework, vendor-specific certifications, or documented self-study.
  • Strong understanding of IT fundamentals, including hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and troubleshoot effectively.
  • A motivated self-starter who takes initiative and is eager to learn new technologies and processes.
  • Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems and remote support tools is a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple priorities and constraints effectively.
  • Capacity to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with the following is a plus:
  • Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Microsoft Office 365 and widely-used business software
  • LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP, and structured cabling
  • Wireless technology fundamentals
  • Firewalls and remote VPN setup
  • Backup and recovery software and methodologies
  • A commitment to continuous learning and skill enhancement, given the ever-evolving nature of the tech field.
  • Proven ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality in all situations.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekend events as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing exceptional technical support, resolving hardware and software issues efficiently as well as upgrading operating systems as needed.
  • Managing service desk tickets both onsite and remotely, ensuring a high standard of organization and cleanliness at all service locations.
  • Fulfilling user requests by installing and configuring hardware and software, setting up accounts, permissions, and passwords, while ensuring security through effective access controls and backups.
  • Collaborating with vendors and other IT team members to resolve technical problems efficiently.
  • Providing technical assistance for all True North events and venues.
  • Communicating status updates to users and gathering feedback for potential service improvements.
  • Taking the initiative to identify areas for improvement and implementing solutions that enhance team productivity.
