QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineering Degree, Technical degree or diploma a definitive asset - but not necessary
  • Seven (7) to ten (10)+ years technical sales experience (OEM experience preferred)
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Customer and results oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong persuasion and selling skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Self-driven to meet individual and department goals and objectives
  • Possession of a valid passport with ability to cross the border

Schedule:

Responsibilities:

Pertinent Details: Direct Hire career opportunity with an established, reputable and stable manufacturing company. Robust training program, with intent for career progression.
Compensation: $110-125K + 20% incentive plan, benefits & pension and more
Travel Requirements: US travel required - inclusive of day trips to predominantly Michigan (couple days per week but will vary). Quarterly travel to HQ required for one (1) week - sales and strategy meetings. A one time 3-4 week training session at HQ in the US will be required (likely in the Spring). And travel to other parts of the US, depending on customer base.

Job Description:

The Sales Application Specialist/Engineer will generate growth for assigned products by proactively developing new business at existing and potential customers while promoting the value of partnering in business. The Sales Application Specialist/Engineer will need to develop strong relationships at both the engineering (product development) and commercial (purchasing) levels. Duties will consist of, but not limited to:

  • Develop strong customer relationships through value added marketing/selling.
  • Understand nuances of target markets and be recognized as an expert.
  • Have a strong technical understanding of company product offering and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Exhibit strong project management skills and entrepreneurial approaches to overcome barriers to successfully sell to new customers and close new opportunities.
  • Continuously identify potential new applications, customers, and/or markets.
  • Exhibit strong project management skills
  • Perform extensive one-on-one marketing
  • Selling/presentations at the engineering, purchasing, quality and production management levels
  • Become a value-added engineering resource within the company
  • Work with peers and Customer Service as a team to develop strong business relationships with customers.
