Description:

At Swindon Borough Council, we want our town to be the best it can be. Our ambitious vision in the new Swindon Plan is supported by realistic transformation programmes, with the people of Swindon at their heart. Because that’s who we’re doing it for – the communities and businesses that make our town great. As part of the Council, you’ll support a friendly local authority making decisions with real impact. It’s all for better public services. Better processes. And a better quality of life, for everyone. Join us, and Swindon will be better with you.
You will provide senior level technical administrative support across the planning, building control, local land charges and street naming and numbering functions to support these services in a customer focused and solutions led way, creating the right conditions for accelerating high-quality development and supporting sustainable growth in Swindon.

Responsibilities:

This is a critical customer facing role which requires the postholder to demonstrate the highest levels of quality service to some of the council’s most influential customers.
High quality, accurate and timely technical administration provides the basis for de-risking all resultant planning work and reduces the burden on senior officers. The postholder will be expected to demonstrate an in depth understanding of back office systems to generate performance and compliance reporting to the Chief Planning Officer.
You will support the Chief Planning Officer to unlock planning barriers to deliver key regeneration projects, transform the town centre and support the council’s aspirations for transformative working.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
